Welcome to physical education at East Elementary!  We are a PEP grant funded program which will use the latest technology from HOPSport.  We also use the SPARK recommended physical education program k-5 which implements the Fitnessgram assessment twice yearly.

My Classroom Mission

Students come to PE class to exercise their muscles, learn skills, play games, and have fun!  Your student can be successful in PE by being good listeners, following the rules, and by being nice to everyone.  Remind your students to wear tennis shoes the two days they have PE in the 5 day rotation.

Fitnessgram scores will be sent home with students in grades 4 and 5 only.  Please review the scores and see how to help your child be more successful with the Fitnessgram challenge.

About Me

Hi!  I am Sandy Lytton one of the PE teachers here at East Elementary.  I have taught physical education for over 25 years!  I graduated from Mars Hill College many years ago and have taught at all three levels, elementary, middle, and high.  I still coach volleyball at East Middle and am a strong advocate for all students finding their niche in sports.
I do have a wonderful family, my husband Brian who also teaches, my two daughters, Makala, 13 and Carrie Jo, 6.  Oh, and I now have a cute little Daschund named Lucy who also resides with me.
I love my job!
